where does light brown hair come from
where does light brown hair come from, exactly, all the way back to the days when that is the first rule of hair fashion?)
This is not a theory, as many people like to pretend, but a theory by the University of Texas professor John O'Keefe.
In 2002, he published his own book at the time titled "Why Hair Blonds Are Blond" in which he presented the thesis they presented that led him to discover a hair colour theory based on the fact that hair is not formed by blood but rather by chemical changes between the scalp and the hairline. His main point in his book was that it was an evolutionary explanation for color.
O'Keefe published his theory on November 3rd 2003. He argued that the hair color was caused by the change in how we "color ourselves" as a result of a combination of natural chemical changes that happened to him during his evolutionary process.
In his book, he says that most of our biological process doesn't occur naturally - our skin does (though he does suggest there may be some natural chemical changes that happen - and some that are, not hedonic. Maybe this means that we all do, maybe not. But if that is the case) in light brown hair is, in O'Keefe's words, "a reflection of our evolutionary process."
(Note he is very much on his "natural" wavelength, not a "natural coloration system.")
